Based in Long Beach, California, Samoan Achievers International (SAI) comprises community activists and dedicated volunteers. To embrace the achievements of esteemed individuals of Samoan descent, SAI made its mark within the Samoan community by hosting its first Awards Gala in 2008 in Carson, California. The success of the Awards Gala provided a forum for SAI to achieve its mission to honor outstanding Samoans for their exemplary leadership in their profession, civic responsibility, philanthropy, educational and cultural pursuits, and family. The event provides an opportunity for the Samoan community to unite as people who are proud of their heritage and those individuals, whom by virtue of their professional or life accomplishments, have enriched the lives and well being of the Samoan community. Through this endeavor, SAI hopes to inspire and empower the community to reach for excellence in their own right.

Since branching out from the Office of Samoan Affairs in 2009, SAI continues to serve the Samoan community by partnering with nonprofit Pacific Islander organizations to provide capacity-building support. SAI is an all-volunteer community organization. 100% of all proceeds from all events go to SAI's Charitable Partners, additional community scholarships and grants, and future SAI Awards events.
